Emma Waterford - Creative Practitioner
Creative Practitioner
Mixed Media
Emma is an experienced creative practitioner. Over 18 years she has refined a combined arts practice integrating theatre, craft and horticulture to improve well-being, reduce isolation and increase levels of cultural engagement within communities.
She has facilitated workshops for large organisations including Southbank Centre (leading workshops for Art by Post and Every Corner Network projects) and the Royal Albert Hall (facilitating intergenerational art workshops), the RSC, The Wildlife Trust and theatre companies including Entelechy, Little Earthquake, Improbable and Teatro Vivo.
As a freelance practitioner she delivers a wide range of workshops including Dementia Cafes, grief support, art, craft and dance. She is a Creative Producer for Northfield Arts Forum (NAF), a community arts organisation in an area of Birmingham with low cultural engagement, and collaboratively helped set up and run a new community hub with over 500 visitors a week.
Emma co-leads Northfield Community Garden facilitating garden and nature workshops for children, adults, elders and those experiencing mental health issues. She is dedicated to increasing community access to green space and the health benefits it provides.
